Sara McGregor's Capitol Catering has been the passion of its namesake, Sara McGregor, since the company's beginnings in the late 1980s. Since then, Sara has successfully led the company's dramatic expansion to become one of Washington D.C.'s best known and most highly regarded full service caterers.
Sara's weddings and events have been featured in Bazaar, In Style, Grace Ormande, Washingtonian Bride and Groom, the Washington Post and featured on the cover of Washington Weddings. She has appeared numerous times on local television programs helping to present entertaining ideas and event styles.
Long time customers are especially valued by Sara, who counts foreign dignitaries, White House officials, Congressional Members and the executive leadership of national trade associations and lobbying firms as her clients and friends.
Sara's partnership with the area's best quality food purveyors and most creative vendors ensure her events meet the high standards she has set for her employees. Her love of wine and food pairings enables Sara's clients to set the perfect tone for events – from private dinner parties to mega-galas.
Sara spearheaded the effort to become a TerraPass member in order to lessen the company's carbon footprint. She enthusiastically offers clients ways to make their parties more "green", organic and eco-friendly.
Sara lives in Alexandria, VA with her husband and two children.
Paul Weppner

Executive Chef Paul Weppner works at the heart of Sara McGregor's Capitol Catering, Inc., leading a skilled team of innovative culinary professionals.
Chef Weppner, a 15-year veteran of the catering industry, works closely with the Capitol Catering sales team in meeting customer expectations, whether they are Fortune 500 companies or mothers and fathers planning their children's memorable weddings.
His original menus and food creations have been featured several times in the Washington Post. Chef Weppner holds a B.S. degree in Hospitality Management and Marketing from Baltimore International College, as well as an A.A. in Culinary Arts and Restaurant studies. Additionally, he holds a Certificate in Architecture Drafting/CAD from Northern Virginia Community College.

Cheryl's wealth of expertise is drawn from more than 20 years in food and beverage project management. Before joining Capitol Catering in 1997, Cheryl was the Club Manager for the Club Corporation of America. She then became Catering Director for City Club of Washington and launched the Club's off-premise catering division.

With over 10 years of experience planning upscale private and corporate events in the DC area, Kirsten Michels brings an unparalleled level of expertise, attention to detail and personal care to all of her clients. Few things excite Kirsten more than delicious, well-executed food – and her enthusiasm is reflected in every event she designs, coordinates and oversees.
The secret to a memorable dish is a careful balance of ingredients. It is with this philosophy that Kirsten approaches her work. She listens to her clients – and provides them well-considered guidance. She is creative and passionate – but also precise and reliable. She loves her job – and takes great pride in doing it well.
Kirsten began her career in event planning with a boutique catering firm in Washington D.C., and joined Capitol Catering in 2002. When she's not sharing her love of food and entertainment with her clients, Kirsten enjoys spending time with her husband and young son.
